Adelaide Village Band : Vacancies.
The Band was formed in 1962 in the Latvian Community and is renowned for presenting authentic and entertaining “Oom-Pah” style music. It performed at 29 German Club Schutzenfests mainly at Hahndorf and many functions throughout Adelaide and South Australia including successful “Out Of The Square” matinees involving 7 shows each being presented in 2009 with soprano Grace Bawden and in 2012 with comedian Phyl Skinner and in 2015 a most enjoyable “Andre Rieu Tribute” show with the Adelaide Allsorts Harmony Choir.
VACANCIES exist for competent brass players, especially those who are prepared to perform as soloists. Most instruments are supplied free and the AVB does not march, compete or charge fees.
It may be able to use talented keyboard, flute, percussion players and a conductor.
Being a community style group players are not paid, music is for personal and public enjoyment.
Rehearsals are most Tuesdays from 7.30pm in the Latvian Hall Cellar in Rose Street, Wayville.

ARPA Orchestra : Vacancies.
The Orchestra has grown to 40 keen musicians and is the only suburban Orchestra that rehearses on a week day being Thursdays at 10am in the revitalised, air-conditioned, centrally located Cumberland Park Community Centre, 390 Goodwood Road, Cumberland Park, Bus G10/G20 Stop 10. While it was a smaller Orchestra about 10 performances per year were provided for Community facilities and more formal concerts. It is now restricted to larger venues and due to its range of talents now performs well loved piano and violin concertos with conservatorium, eisteddfod and other talents plus symphonies and other classical or light music.
2017 onwards will see some exciting initiatives by the Orchestra with Conductor, Roland Dankbaar.
VACANCIES exist for string players and even though the Orchestra is formed under the Australian Retired Persons Association the door is open to competent musicians of any age.
Also Oboe, Horn and Electric Keyboard players are needed to complete the Orchestral sound.
